To edit or add a new direct mail creative you'll click go to Creatives > Email. Then click on the pencil icon under Actions. Then, you can select or upload a creative.
Add a New Email Creative
- The Name field is there to help you remember which creative is which. You can name it whatever you want.
- The From field refers to what will appear before the '@' sign when someone in your audience receives the email (e.g., "john@yourdomain.com").
- Your domain is actually set by our system itself, so you won't have control over that portion.
- The Subject Line is what will appear in the subject line of the email
Create an HTML Email
The creative itself is defined by the HTML in the Creative field. We don't have an HTML builder at this time, but if you want to send a plain text email or need a free HTML builder for email try BEE at beefree.io.
Once you build the HTML for your email, paste it in the Creative field.
Upload Images
If your images are only on your computer and they aren't hosted on a different web server, you'll need to upload them. To do that, click the Upload Images button and navigate to the folder where the images are located. Select the images and click Open. Then, the individual images will be uploaded and attached to the creative.
Once that upload is complete, click the Create button to finalize your creative.
Preview Your Email
Next, you'll be taken to a preview dialogue so you can review a proof of what your email creative will look like. You can also hit the Send Proof button to email a proof to yourself, your team, and anyone else who needs to review it.
Just put the email addresses in the Recipients field. If you want to include multiple recipients, put a single email address on each line and click the Send button.
Once you're happy with your creative, submit the creative for review by clicking the Send button at the top of the proof window.
The Review Process
After you've submitted your creative for review, you'll notice the current status is pending review. Within about one business day, someone on our team will review your creative and approve or reject it.
The review process is designed to ensure that your campaign is CAN-SPAM compliant. The core things we look at are:
- Is the header information misleading?
- Is the subject line deceptive?
- Does the email include your address?
- Does the email include an opt-out link? (If you don't have your own unsubscribe link, we have a global opt-out link that we can place in your creative for you.)
If your creative is rejected, you'll receive information as to why it was rejected. Once you've addressed those items, you can edit your existing creative and resubmit, or you can submit a new creative for review.
Then, once your creative is approved, the status will be Active. That creative is now ready for use in your first email campaign.
